Bhagat Singh Thakur SP Hamirpur conferred with President’s Medal by Governor
The award was conferred on BS Thakur for his meritorious services as well his outstanding performance in national and international sports events. Bhagat Singh Thakur Gold Medalist of Asian Boxing Championship in 1988-89 remained national Gold Medalist for consecutive four year from 1987 to 1991.

Bhagat Singh Thakur IPS Superintendent of Police of the district is awarded with President’s Medal for the year 2021 by Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Raj Bhawan in Shimla on Friday. The award was conferred on BS Thakur for his meritorious services as well his outstanding performance in national and international sports events.
Bhagat Singh Thakur Gold Medalist of Asian Boxing Championship in 1988-89 remained national Gold Medalist for consecutive four year from 1987 to 1991. He joined state police department as inspector in 1994 and got promoted to Himachal Pradesh Police Services in the year 2000 while inducted into IPS cadre in 2015. Pertinent to mention that the officer was awarded with DGP disc award four times while he was also conferred with ‘HP State Purshtom Award’.
Speaking on the occasion SP said that he dedicates his achievements to almighty, his parents and well wishers who inspired and encouraged him to work relentlessly for the society.
