Lt. General Ranjit Singh is pined up the promotion badges by his senior officers at Army Headquarter in New Delhi while his wife Yogita stands by his side.
Lt. Gen Ranjeet Singh, who assumed charge as Major General in January 2022, is a resident of the Hira Nagar colony and is son of late Lt Col Kishan Chand. His grandfather retired from the British Indian Army in 1932 while one of his uncle Rampal Singh was Colonel in Indian Army and had commanded JAK Rifles in decade of seventies.
Lt. Gen Ranjit Singh was commissioned in the Army in December 1989. Besides his long service at strategic positions in the country, he has served as an attache of the Indian Army in Russia.
Lt. Gen. Ranjit Singh had joined the 75th batch of the NDA in 1986. He got the first commission in the Army on December 16, 1989. He had done his schooling from Kendriya Vidyalayas at places such as Yol, Mumbai, Udhampur etc. as the family kept moving with the postings of his father.
Nearer and dearer had showered blessings and congratulated family of Ranjit Singh for his extraordinary achievement.
