Chief Minister announces HRTC sub depot for Kumarsain

Addressing the public meeting after the inauguration of the new bus stand at Kumarsain in district Shimla, constructed with a cost of Rs. 4.26 crores, Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu also announced the opening of a sub-depot of the HRTC at Kumarsain thus fulfilling the long pending demand of the people of the area. He said that the government would soon implement this announcement.

The new bus stand will facilitate people of 28 panchayats of Kumarsain. As many as 41 bus routes will be operated from here.

Addressing on the occasion the Chief Minister said that the government would spend the state finances on the development of the state and ensuring the welfare of the society. He said that after assuming power, he inherited financial debt of more than 75000 crore from the previous BJP government. As the state was trying to improve its economy, the natural disaster shook the state and posed a big financial challenge to meet the needs of development, he said adding that "with the cooperation of the people of the state we managed to bring the economy back on the track slowly and I am indebted to my people who stood by me in such crises". He said that the state government increased the relief amount manifold, from its own resources to provide relief amount to the disaster affected.

Referring to the budget, the Chief Minister said that historic decisions have been taken in this year's budget mainly revolving around for the women empowerment, the welfare of marginalized sections of the society, the farmers and horticulturists. The decision to sell apples on per kilogram basis was implemented last year and the use of universal cartons has been made mandatory from this year, he stated. For the first time in the country, a historic decision was taken to provide support price for procurement of milk of cow and buffalo by Rs. 45 and Rs. 55  repsectively.

He also referred to various welfare schemes being implemented for the children, destitute, single women, widows and the benefits being provided to them under Sukh Aashray Yojana.

MLA Kuldeep Singh Rathore while welcoming the Chief Minister detailed about other the local demands of the area and counted the developmental projects being carried out by the state government in the area. He said that Congress governments were the synonyms of the development and said that he was thankful to the Chief Minister for fulfilling the long pending demand of the bus stand at Kumarsain.

Later, while addressing the public meeting at Nehru ground in Theog, the Chief announced to upgrade the Theog hospital in Shimla district as district level hospital to provide better health services to the people of upper Shimla.

The Chief Minister also inaugurated the newly constructed buildings of government senior secondary school Theog and Mohari  in Theog sub-division.

While addressing a public meeting in Theog, he said that the during the natural disaster in last monsoon, the state government ensured that apple producers of the Shimla district get better prices of their produce and the support price was increased by record Rs. 1.50 besides taking a decision to purchase apple per kilogram and introducing universal carton.

PWD Minister Vikramaditya Singh, Chairman, HP Cooperative Bank Devender Shyam, Chairman, State Forest Corporation Kehar Singh Khachi, State Cooperative Bank President Devendra Shyam, District Rural Congress Committee President Atul Sharma, President, Block Congress Committee Narender Kunwar were also present on the occasion.
