Shoolini University to host Yoga countdown celebrations

In alignment with the Ministry of Ayush’s initiative to promote holistic health and well-being, Shoolini University will proudly host the 58th Day Countdown Celebration to International Yoga Day 2025 on Thursday, April 24, at Yuvraj Singh Stadium, Shoolini University. 

This grand celebration is part of the Yoga Mahotsav 2025, marking the 75-day countdown to International Yoga Day, under the overarching theme “Yoga for One Earth, One Health.”

The Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, has entrusted the Morarji Desai National Institute of Yoga (MDNIY) with coordinating this significant event, recognising Shoolini University’s dedication to promoting yoga, wellness, and a healthy lifestyle among the youth and academic community.

The event will commence at 7:00 AM and is expected to witness the enthusiastic participation of nearly 400 yoga practitioners, faculty members, and students and local visiter can also participate in the event. The highlight of the event will be the collective practice of the Common Yoga Protocol, as prescribed by the Ministry of AYUSH. Participants will synchronise their breath, mind, and body to experience the profound rejuvenating effects of yoga.

Adding intellectual depth to the occasion, the event will feature expert talks by guests, Prof. Manas Mandal, eminent Neuroscientist, IIT Kharagpur, who will share insights on the neurological benefits of yoga in enhancing mental well-being. Dr. S. P. Pathak, Assistant Professor of Yoga, Himachal Pradesh University, Shimla, who will enlighten the audience on yoga’s traditional roots and its contemporary relevance.

As a token of encouragement, free yoga T-shirts will be distributed to all participants on a first-come, first-served basis. The morning will conclude with refreshments, offering a chance for community bonding and celebration.
