FDP focused on AI Integration in academia concludes at Shoolini University

The Shoolini Centre for Distance and Online Education (SCDOE), in collaboration with the Yogananda School of AI and The Learning Team, conducted a five-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) titled “AI Toolkit for Career Success”.

The FDP was led by Dr. Amar Raj Singh, Director of SCDOE, as part of the university’s Train-the-Trainer initiative.

The FDP was designed to help faculty and staff from all departments, regardless of their technical background, learn how to use Artificial Intelligence (AI) in teaching, research, and everyday academic tasks.

Each day included interactive demonstrations and hands-on practice sessions, held in-person. Faculty members who completed the training received a certificate and were made eligible to teach the university’s new 2-credit course, “AI Toolkit for Career Success”, to students across various disciplines.

Over the five days, Dr. Singh led participants through practical sessions covering key AI applications such as prompt engineering, micro-lesson design, multimedia content creation, custom GPT development, and workflow automation.

The final day of the FDP was attended by Prof. Ashish Khosla, President and Chief Innovation and Marketing Officer at Shoolini University, shared his vision for the future of AI in education and introduced the idea of the “Five AIs of the Future”, describing how AI is transforming both teaching and work environments. “The future of education is closely connected with Artificial Intelligence,” said Prof. Khosla.

He further added that at Shoolini, we aim to empower our faculty and students with tools like Generative AI, Multimodal AI, and Agentic AI to create more engaging and student focused learning experiences.

During the sessions, faculty explored advanced prompting techniques, created lessons using AI-generated visuals, voiceovers, and avatars, and learned to build custom GPTs based on their subject areas.

They also worked with tools like NotebookLM, which helps summarise long academic texts quickly and accurately.

The FDP successfully introduced faculty to practical AI tools, preparing them to teach with confidence and to guide students in developing future-ready skills.
