Shoolini University reaffirmed its commitment to creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment for its students by organising an Anti-Ragging Awareness Session and Oath-Taking Ceremony as part of Anti-Ragging Week celebrations.
The initiative aimed to educate students about the harmful effects of ragging, its legal consequences, and the importance of empathy and equality in campus life.
The session began with an informative and inspiring talk by Dr. Neeraj Gandotra, Associate Dean Student Welfare, who highlighted that ragging is not only a violation of institutional values but also a punishable offence under law. He spoke about the need to build healthy and friendly relationships between seniors and juniors, ensuring that every student feels respected and safe. Dr. Gandotra also briefed students on institutional policies, preventive measures, and strict penalties for those involved in ragging.
The interactive discussions encouraged participants to share their own views on promoting a positive campus culture. Students actively engaged in conversations about mutual respect, peer support, and zero tolerance towards harassment.
The event concluded with all students taking a formal Anti-Ragging Oath, and pledged not to indulge in or tolerate ragging, and to extend support to any fellow student in distress.
Speaking about the initiative, Chancellor Prof. P.K. Khosla said, “at Shoolini, we believe that learning can only thrive in an environment of trust, respect, and dignity. This pledge is a promise from every student to protect these values and help make our campus a true home for all”.
