Shoolini’s Kavya Club organises NEP 2020 awareness through student engagement

Demonstrating a strong commitment for educational awareness and intellectual engagement among students, the Kavya Club of Shoolini University organised two impactful events themed around the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 — an Essay Writing Competition and an Awareness Help Desk. 

Both initiatives were conducted under the guidance of the DSW Office, with valuable support from Associate Dean Student Welfare Dr. Neeraj Gandotra and coordination assistance from Mr. Vipul Tomar.

In the Essay Writing Competition, 42 students participated across disciplines. Designed to ignite critical thinking and academic expression, the competition invited students to write essays on thought-provoking NEP topics such as key features of NEP 2020, multilingualism, student futures, and comparisons with the old policy. After a rigorous two-round evaluation, the panel of judges — Dr. Hemant and Dr. Prakash, faculty coordinators of Kavya Club. 

1st Prize Palak Raghuwanshi (B.A. English Hons., 3rd Year) – ₹500 Amazon voucher + certificate and 2nd Prize: Vijaya Lakshmi (B.Tech Biotech, 2nd Year) – ₹300 Amazon voucher + certificate.

In continuation of its policy awareness campaign, the Awareness Help Desk was also set up to serve as an informative station on campus, where Kavya Club volunteers educated students about NEP 2020 through posters, brochures, and one-on-one sessions. Key highlights of the desk included simplified explanations of NEP reforms such as multidisciplinary education, flexible subject choices, multiple entry-exit options, and the promotion of regional languages and vocational training.
