Rain wreaks havoc, four killed, many roads closed, rivers and streams in spate in Himachal Pradesh

Shimla, July 19
Heavy rains have wreaked havoc in Himachal Pradesh on Monday. Many roads in the state have been closed due to landslides. The rivers and streams are in spate.
In Chamba district, a car was hit by a landslide and rammed into the Ravi river.Three people from the same family were in the car. The police along with the local people have started the rescue operation. The body of a woman has just been recovered. The search for the other two is on.
Alto car had an accident near Koti on Chamba-Teesa road. The driver died in the accident. It has also rained in the capital Shimla.
The Meteorological Center Shimla has issued a red alert of heavy rain in the state on July 19. Orange alert has been issued on July 20 and then yellow alert for two days. The weather is forecast to remain bad across the state till July 22.
The administration has issued instructions of the people and tourists not to go to the banks of rivers and streams and towards the landslide prone areas.
