India’s sets Guinness world record in tiger census

Delhi, July 28 (QNN)

Prakash Javadekar Union Environment Minister dedicated the Guinness world record to the people on the eve of Global Tiger Day on July 28. The record had recognized the country’s efforts in monitoring its wild tiger population as the world’s largest camera-trap survey of wildlife said the minister. Significantly, India had 70 percent of the total tiger population of the world.

The minister said that India should be proud of it that the country had 30,000 elephants, 3000 one-horned rhinos and more than 500 lions.

Prakash Javadekar, Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change said while launching initiatives for conservation and awareness on Tigers, on the eve of of Global Tiger Day, 2020.
