Hamirpur Corona Virus Blunder: Divisional Commissioner Initiated Investigation

The biggest ever failure in handling corona virus positive cases in the state, the in Divisional Commissioner of Mandi Revenue Division had reportedly initiated the investigation. It was learnt that the Div. Comm. had recorded statements and collected evidences into grave lapse in handling the corona virus in the district that allegedly resulted in spiking fear of corona virus in thousands of people in the district. Significantly, district administration sent 43 persons to their homes from quarantine centre at Navodya Vidhalya Dungri without waiting for their corona virus test report. As many as 15 of them were reported positive when they were with their families in their respective homes.

After they were reported positive for corona virus, the administration pressed teams into action to bring them back to Dedicated Covid Care Centres in the district. But in the mean time fear of spread of corona virus had already spiked in the members families of those 15 corona virus positive persons. Notably, one more person from village PAnsai in Nadaun Subdivision was tested positive from amongst the 43 taking the tally to 16. Pansai village was yesterday declared containment zone after he was tested positive for corona virus. The health authorities had started the process of collecting samples of primary and secondary contacts of the person from village Pansai.

Divisional Commissioner Vikas Labru said that he had recorded the statements of officers allegedly responsible for the lapse in managing the quarantined people. He said that evidences were also collected in the matter. The final report on finding would be submitted in to the state government in four days, he responded.
