Five geared e-bike developed at IIIT Una


The Product development wing of the IIIT Una has developed a five geared e-bike that can run forty to fifty kilometers by charging ninety minutes. Prof S Selvakumar, the Director of Triple IT said, Trainees are getting a chance to show their skills in PD Lab. The e-bike has been made in the lab. There are many features available in the bike. Work is going on many projects in PD Lab. It is definitely a platform for lab trainees. This bike is constantly being upgraded and many features are being added by the trainees. The maximum speed of this bike will be 25 kilometers per hour. Many other facilities have been given in the bike including a torch. A Hub motor has been installed to drive the bike. The trainees’, after running the e-bike successfully, are now engaged in upgrading it. All the material for the e-bike was bought locally. The e-bike was prepared by spending around Rs 40,000. A 350-watt battery has been installed in this e-bike, the Director adde.
