This year's budget to focus on making Himachal prosperous, self-reliant: Chief Minister

The Government was working with the aim of 'Vyavastha Parivartan' and was focusing on rapid improvement in the financial condition of the state. The budget for fiscal 2024-25 would be framed keeping this objective in mind and it would also determine the direction of the State Government in its endeavour to make Himachal Pradesh a prosperous state. This was stated by Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu while speaking in the 'Chaupal' programme organised by a media house at New Delhi today.

He said that the state government was committed to overall development of the state and its citizens. He added that in order to ensure the welfare of employees, the state government has implemented the poll guarantee of providing OPS to government employees.

The state government aims at developing Himachal Pradesh as a tourist destination for all seasons, remarked the Chief Minister, adding that the related infrastructure was being developed accordingly. He said that the conditions were also ideal for Himachal to become round-the-year tourist destination as it has snow capped peaks, green meadows, water bodies and huge forest cover etc that can cater to the wide range of interests of tourists of all age groups.

Sh. Sukhu said that tourist infrastructure was being strengthened by constructing heliports across the state to connect all district headquarters and efforts were also afoot to expand Kangra airport. 

He also detailed about the 'Chandratal' operation while reiterating the State Government's commitment to ensure safe and memorable stay for tourists visiting the state. While stating about the efforts of the government for bringing back normalcy in the state after the unprecedented natural disaster during the monsoon season, the Chief Minister said that the government lives up to the ideals of good governance.
