But, the foreign invaders ruined the great culture of the country and the traditions of science, he added and said that unfortunately, we too have forgotten the great traditions of civilization and started considering the idea of the West as superior. He said that it was our sense of duty to restore the pride of Indian civilization and culture for which the National Education Policy (NEP) could prove to be a milestone as it was truely related to our soil and the policy was a serious effort towards emancipation of our educational structure from the control of ideological slavery. He said that the best of Indian ethics, thoughts and rituals have been included in NEP. He appealed to all the educationists and students to study the Policy thoroughly and also give suggestions for its better implementation. Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar said that emphasis has been laid on making education employable in this policy. He said that education for the students should not only mean getting a degree and finding a job on the basis of that degree. Instead of looking for a job, they should try to become a job provider themselves, he added. Appreciating the work of Rashtriya Vigyan Bharati, he said that to develop scientific temperament, attitude and curiosity in the children and to make them aware of the rich traditions of Indian science, this institution has taken a very good initiative through the Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan program and through this program, brilliant students of class VI to XI were getting a very good platform. The Governor presented Vidyarthi Vigyan Manthan Awards to the winners of the year 2021-22 on the occasion.
