Jai Ram Thakur Chief Minister flagged off 61 vehicles including 58 Royal Enfield motorcycles, two trucks and one bus of the State Police Department from Oak Over.
He also released an awareness video clip on the theme ‘Say No To Drugs’ of the department which was uploaded on YouTube.
Chief Minister said that the State Government was making all efforts to provide best technologies and better facilities to the Police department to enable better law and order situation in the State. He said that the department was doing a commendable job while serving people of the State. He said that government would provide all assistance to the department for its modernization and effective functioning.
He said that the State Government had made a budgetary provision of Rs. 13 crore during the current financial year for purchase of new vehicles. So far as many as 99 vehicles amounting to Rs. rupees four crore were purchased.
Dr. Rajiv Saizal Health Minister, Additional Chief Secretary Home Manoj Kumar, Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu and other senior police officers were also present.
