15 thousand fine now for use of mobile phone while driving in Himachal Pradesh

The Himachal Pradesh government has issued a notification regarding the amended fine and compounding limit under the Motor Vehicles Act. According to the new notification, for the first time using mobile phone while driving a vehicle will attract a fine of upto Rs. 2,500, while using it within 3 years will attract a fine of upto Rs. 15,000.

Permission to drive a vehicle without a suitable license will attract a fine between Rs 5000 to 7500. 5000 to 7500 for driving a vehicle without a license, 10000 to 15000 for obtaining a license without giving correct information, 5000 to 15000 for becoming a conductor despite disqualification.

If the vehicle maker or dealer provider makes any changes in the vehicle, then he will be fined from one lakh to one and a half lakhs. 5000 to 7500 rupees for changing the vehicle, 3000 to 6000 rupees for driving a speeding vehicle, 5000 to 15000 for racing or speed trial in a public place, 3000 to 15000 for using a vehicle without registration. Driving an uninsured vehicle will attract a fine between Rs 2000 and Rs 6000. The rates of fines can be increased or decreased during the review.
