CBI proved Neelu Guilty in Gudiya Rape and Murder case

Judgment to be pronounced on May 11, 2021.

At last Rajiv Bhardwaj Session Judge and CBI special Judge at Shimla held Guidya rape and murder case accused Neelu guilty in all the four account and convicted him in the court here  on Wednesday.

The virtual hearing of this case was held in which accused Neelu was presented through video conferencing from the jail. Justice Rajiv Bhardwaj held accused guilty under all the charges and decided to pronounce the judgment of sentence to the lone accused on May 11, 2021.

The only accused Anil Kumar alias Nillu alias Charani was held guilty under sections of IPC including 376 (2)(i), 376 (A), and 302  and section 4 of the POCSO Act.

In his order judge said that of the 14 points of evidence brought forth by the CBI and 12 were found to be against Nillu. The most important being the matching of his DNA with samples found on the crime spot.

The judge said that the crime was committed in a spur of the moment, with Neelu making up his mind to rape and kill the victim when he encountered her in the forest while she was walking from school to home.

Neelu, who attended the hearing virtually from a prison maintained that he did not committed  the crime.

Notably, a 16-year-old Class 10 student in Shimla’s Kotkhai area was reportedly raped and killed on the afternoon of July 4, 2017 in the forest. She left her school but never reached home. Her body was found in pool of blood after two days in a ditch in the forest.
