Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated the first cultural night of the week-long famous and traditional International Shivratri fair of Mandi district by lighting the lamp.
Deputy Commissioner Mandi and Chairman Mela Committee Rugved Thakur presented memento to the Chief Minister on this occasion.
The festival is celebrated to mark the mahashivratri on the incarnation of lord Shiva. The festival would be celebrated for a week and hundreds of deities from across the district are participating in the festival.
Jai Ram Thakur said that fairs and festivals are reflection of our rich cultural heritage. He siad the such festivals enrich harmony in society.
Senior officials of administration and police and some MLA’s of BJP were also present.
