The country’s COVID-19 tally crossed 15 lakh mark on Wednesday, just two days after it crossed the 14-lakh mark. With 48,513 fresh cases recorded in a day while the recoveries surged to 9,88,029, as per the Union Health Ministry report.
The total of corona virus cases climbed to 15,31,669. The death toll due to the disease rose to 34,193 with 768 deaths being reported in a 24-hour in the country.

The recovery rate of COVID-19 patients had rose to 64.51 per cent.
Significantly, this was the seventh consecutive day that COVID-19 cases had increased by more than 45,000. According to the ICMR the cumulative total of 177,43740 samples were tested up to July 28. As many as 408,855 samples were tested on Tuesday.
