21 year old Covid 19 patient died, Programme ‘Nigah’ to be launched for awareness :H.P

In Himachal Pradesh, with the death of a COVID-19 patient at IGMC Shimla yesterday, the death toll due to COVID 19 Pandemic has risen to two in the state. The deceased had recently returned from Delhi and was suffering from the kidney ailment. The total confirmed Coronavirus cases in the state is 42. State government has decided to launch a new programme ‘Nigah’, in order to sensitize and educate the family members of the people coming to the state from various parts of the country. The 21 year old kidney patient who was tested positive for Covid 19 died at IGMC shimla last evening due to kidney failure.

The Mandi district administration has completely sealed the entire area of gram panchayat Chowk Dev Brarta and Ropri and its adjoining places with immediate effect. Under ‘Nigah’ programme a team of ASHA , health and Anganwadi workers would sensitize the family members of persons arriving from other States regarding the importance of social distancing ,so that they could be saved from any possible infection.

In Order to avoid spread of COVID 19 infection , Chief Minister Jairam Thakur has urged members of Panchayati Raj Institutions and Urban Local Bodies to ensure that people who recently returned to the state from other states shall followed home quarantine guidelines strictly. He said strict action would be taken against those who jump home isolation as this would not only harm their family members but society as well.
