City gets First Test tube Baby at SAI HOSPITAL Hamirpur

The SAI Hospital Hamirpur added another feather in its cap as the first Test Tube baby, a female child was born at Sai Hospital here on July 19. Dr. Anandita Thakur an IVF specialist had few words as this was her first attempt with a complicated case and that too here where she had limited resources. She said, “Suman (30) had failed to conceive in earlier five attempts that she tried twice in Bangluru and thrice in Mumbai”. She said that the procedure took over two hours and Suman conceived in first week of November 2018.
“Seeing my own baby was happiest moment of my life and I have no words to explain my feelings” , said Suman who successfully delivered her first baby after almost eight years after she was married to Kamal. The new born baby was weighing 2.8 kgs and was healthy and reflexes were good.
Kamal Kumar father of the test tube baby said that he had lost all hopes to have a child and had started thinking of adoption but Dr. Anandita had brought all the smiles to the family.
Dr. Abhishek Thakur Managing Director of Sai Hospital said that the success of IVF here had opened new era of medical facilities in the town. The hospital was open to extend free counseling to childless couples and help them have their own child, he added.
