International Conference on human-computer concludes at Shoolini University
The International Conference on Human-Computer Interaction and Cognitive Computing (HCICC-2025), jointly organised by Shoolini University and the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Hamirpur, concluded with resounding success.
The event brought together renowned national and international speakers, with extensive participation from academia and industry.
The conference featured engaging sessions addressing cutting-edge developments in Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Cognitive Computing. Dr Sandeep Kaur Kuttal from North Carolina State University, United States, and Dr Sanaa Kaddoura from Zayed University, United Arab Emirates, shared valuable insights into Software Engineering and Large Language Models, emphasising the importance of human-centric factors in quality development.
A highlight of the conference was a lecture by Mr P.K. Gupta, Global CTO at Dell Technologies, United States, titled emerging technologies and opportunities for 2025 and Beyond. Mr Gupta detailed existing research gaps in critical areas such as healthcare, agriculture, defence, and manufacturing, calling for stronger IT industry collaboration to develop tangible solutions.
Prof Tapan Gandhi from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and Prof Varun Dutt from IIT Mandi underscored the role of HCI research in advancing Cognitive Science. Prof Gandhi presented his work on Brain-Computer Interfaces, while Prof Dutt focused on behavioural cybersecurity, highlighting the integration of HCI principles to create human-centric solutions.
Prof Mohinder Singh Thakur, Chair of the HCICC-2025 organising committee, expressed gratitude to the Shoolini University management, NIT Hamirpur, and other key partners, including the National Institute of Electronics and Information Technology (NIELIT) Shimla, iCreate Gujarat, Science Museum Shimla, the Director of Higher Education Himachal Pradesh, the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF), and the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Government of India. He acknowledged the invaluable contributions of speakers, session chairs, and participants in making the conference a remarkable success.
Prof Thakur also congratulated Dr Arvind Sharma, Convenor of HCICC-2025, and the organising team for their outstanding efforts in seamlessly hosting the event.
