The state of Himachal Pradesh that was reeling under heavy financial burden and was adversely affected during 2023 was given Rs. 189.20 crore only while the loss assessed by the central agencies was reportedly more than Rs. 9000 crore. Pertinent to mention that the state government had announced a package of Rs. 4500 crore to address the damages met to private and government property in the state.

Meanwhile the Ministry of Home Affairs had released ₹5,858.60 crore to 14 flood-affected States as Central share from State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and advance from National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF) as mentioned in the media release of PIB on October 1.

The release mentioned that Central Government approved release of ₹189.20 crore to Himachal Pradesh as Central share from State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) and advance from National Disaster Response Fund (NDRF). It also listed that  Inter-Ministerial Central Teams (IMCTs) were sent to flood-affected states of Assam, Mizoram, Kerala, Tripura, Nagaland, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Manipur for on-the-spot assessment of damages and IMCTs will be sent shortly to Bihar and West Bengal for on-the-spot assessment of damages

The  PIB also said that under the leadership of Modi and guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, an amount of more than ₹14,958 crore has been released to 21 states this year. As per the details Centre has released ₹1,492 crore to Maharashtra, ₹1,036 crore to Andhra Pradesh, ₹716 crore to Assam, ₹655.60 crore to Bihar, ₹600 crore to Gujarat, ₹189.20 crore to Himachal Pradesh, ₹145.60 crore to Kerala, ₹50 crore to Manipur, ₹21.60 crore to Mizoram, ₹19.20 crore to Nagaland, ₹23.60 crore to Sikkim, ₹416.80 crore to Telangana, ₹25 crore to Tripura and ₹468 crore to West Bengal.
