As per the announcement of bye election the nominations would start on June 14, last date of nominations would be June 21, scrutiny of nomination on June 24, withdrawal of nominations on June 26, date of poll is July 10 and counting would be done on July 13.

The normal development and working government departments in the district has once again paralised with the announcement of assembly Bye-Poll in three constituencies of the state including Hamiprur, Dehra and Nalagarh and imposition of Election Code of Conduct by election commission today. Notably, the assembly seat of the constituency went vacant after Ashish Sharma MLA elected as Independent in 2022 assembly election tendered his resignation to speaker of Vidhansabh in March this year along with two other Independent MLAs including Hosiyar Singh of Dehra and KL Thakur of Nalagarh assembly constituencies. Their resignations were accepted by the speaker on June 2.

As per the announcement of bye election the nominations would start on June 14, last date of nominations would be June 21, scrutiny of nomination on June 24, withdrawal of nominations on June 26, date of poll is July 10 and counting would be done on July 13.

Amarjit Singh Deputy Commissioner  and district returning officer here said that the ECC is enforced in the district with the announcement of bye election in Hamrpur assembly constituency. He said that to ensure peaceful, free and fair conduct of the election there would be complete restriction on movement of arms and ammunition under section 144 of CRPC. He added that these restrictions would continue till completion of the election process on June 14. He said that any violation in the restrictions would invite action under the act. He said that these restrictions would not apply to security personnel performing duty in conduct of the election and people taking their weapons to deposit with police or gun dealers.
