Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu released the teaser of Shimla Flying Festival-2023 here on late Wednesday evening. The festival is being organized jointly by the Himachal Pradesh Tourism Department and ‘The Glide Inn’ organization at Junga near Shimla from 12th to 15th October, 2023.
The Chief Minister said that the tourism activities in the state were hindered badly and the state suffered huge loss due to heavy rains, landslides and floods for almost three months during the monsoon season. He said that the state government worked on war footing to recover from the natural calamity.
“As now, when the life is coming back to normal with all communication networks restored, we intend to start tourism activities in a big way and welcome tourists to enjoy all sort of activities and adventure sports” said he. The Shimla Flying Festival will surely add to the attraction of tourism activities, he said. He said that the state government was promoting adventure tourism in the state on a large scale and district Kangra was being developed as a tourism capital.
Chairman Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation, R S Bali, Principal Private Secretary to the Chief Minister, Vivek Bhatia, OSD to the Chief Minister, Gopal Sharma, Director Information and Public Relations, Rajiv Kumar, MD Glide Inn, Arun Rawat and other senior officers were also present on the occasion.
