In 1988, he received the Sahitya Akademi Award. In conversation Prof. Mishra said that congratulations are coming to him after the announcement of Padma Shri. With this honor, he realized that his goal was that the Sanskrit language scholar should not be considered only old, Vedic period, it has been fulfilled. This will give respect to Sanskrit, the mother of all languages and will be promoted.
He will strive to get Sanskrit the highest position. He tried to prove from his works and literature that Sanskrit is not the language of the pandits, astrologers and Vedas, the reader can have the same new ideas. In his creations, literature stories, poetry collections, units have included subjects directly related to every contemporary society.
