Hamirpur: A meeting was organized in the context of preparations for Hamir Utsav under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Shri Harikesh Meena. He said that this year Hamir Utsav will be organized from December 6 to 7, 2019.
He said that the two-day Hamir Utsav is proposed to be organized at the sports ground of Government Senior Secondary School (Boys) Hamirpur. During this festival, developmental exhibitions of various departments will be held in the fair ground. In addition, cultural and sports programs will also be organized. He said that Himachali artists would be given preference along with the best star performers in cultural evenings. Emerging local artists will be selected through auditions. Like every year, a souvenir will also be published to celebrate the festival.
He said that sports competitions will be organized during the festival, under which volleyball and kabaddi will be held. Healthy baby shows, fancy dress and painting competitions will be organized for young children. Apart from this, activities like musical chairs, Zumba etc. will also be done for the people in the festival.
He said that various sub-committees have been formed to prepare for the Hamir festival. Along with all the concerned officials and departments, cooperation of other institutions and local people is also being taken in it. He urged everyone to discharge their respective role in the successful organization of this festival.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Mr. Rattan Kumar Gautham, Assistant Commissioner Mr. Raj Kishan, Deputy Director (Higher Education) Mr. Jaswant Singh, District Language-Culture Officer Nikku Ram, District Youth Services and Sports Officer and other concerned departments were present in the meeting.
