NEW DELHI:-In the CBI case, a special court Order sent Chidambaram for custodial interrogation after he was arrested on the night of August 21. Mehta said that Chidambaram cannot be arrested in the ED case till Monday as he is already in the custody of the CBI and a person cannot be arrested simultaneously by two agencies. SC will take both ED and CBI cases against P Chidambaram for hearing on Monday. SC grants protection from arrest to Chidambaram in ED case till Monday but no relief in CBI case. 
Setback for Enforcement Directorate as Supreme Court also records in its order that P Chidambaram has always been on bail and he has been cooperating with the investigation in the ED matter.
Court extends protection from arrest to P Chidambaram till Sep 3 in Aircel-Maxis case. Court refuses to adjourn Aircel-Maxis case till Tue on pleas by CBI, ED which sought adjournment saying INX Media case pending before SC.
SG Mehta vehemently opposed the order granting protection from arrest to Chidambaram in the money laundering case registered by the ED.
Solicitor General Tushar Mehta and Chidambaram’s lawyers get into a heated argument towards the end of the proceedings. While Solicitor General Mehta sought to hand over certain documents, Sibal called them fabricated and decried the practice of tendering papers like this.
