Grand Conclusion of 10-Day Annual Training Camp (ATC-233) at NIT Hamirpur

The 10-day Annual Training Camp (ATC-233), hosted at the National Institute of Technology (NIT), Hamirpur, concluded successfully today with a grand Valedictory and Prize Distribution Ceremony. The prestigious camp, held from July 5 to July 14, 2026, was conducted under the able leadership and guidance of Wing Commander Kunal Sharma, Commanding Officer of 1 Himachal Pradesh Air Squadron NCC, Kullu, who served as the Camp Commandant.
The closing ceremony was held at the auditorium of NIT Hamirpur, where the Camp Commandant felicitated NCC Air Wing cadets, schools, and colleges for their outstanding performances in various competitions. Throughout the camp, cadets participated in a wide range of mental, physical, and military training activities, demonstrating exceptional discipline, leadership, teamwork, and professional competence.

Overall Champion
Vallabh Government College (VGC), Mandi, emerged as the Overall Champion with 73 points, securing 18 Gold Medals and 9 Silver Medals. The college also won the Best Drill Trophy and the Best Discipline Trophy, thereby claiming the coveted Overall Championship Trophy of Annual Training Camp (ATC-233). The NCC Air Wing contingent of Vallabh Government College, Mandi, was led by Associate NCC Officer Flying Officer Dr. Chaman.
Runner-up
Government College (GC), Kullu, secured the second position with 65 points, winning 11 Gold Medals and 16 Silver Medals. The NCC Air Wing contingent was led by Flying Officer Nischal Sharma.

Overall Champion
DAV CPS, Mandi, emerged as the Overall Champion with 25 points, winning 4 Gold Medals and 8 Silver Medals.

Inspiring Address by the Camp Commandant
Addressing the Valedictory and Prize Distribution Ceremony, Wing Commander Kunal Sharma, Commanding Officer of 1 Himachal Pradesh Air Squadron NCC, Kullu, congratulated all the winners and commended every participating cadet for their discipline, dedication, outstanding performance, and exemplary morale throughout the camp.
He stated that the primary objective of Annual Training Camp (ATC-233) is to develop leadership qualities, discipline, teamwork, national integration, and a spirit of selfless service among the youth. He expressed his satisfaction that all the cadets had upheld these values with exceptional commitment and enthusiasm during the entire training camp.
Wing Commander Kunal Sharma also conveyed his sincere gratitude to Professor Hiralal Murlidhar Suryawanshi, Director, National Institute of Technology (NIT), Hamirpur, and the entire NIT fraternity for their invaluable support. He acknowledged that the direct and indirect contributions of the institute played a crucial role in the successful planning, management, and execution of the Annual Training Camp.
The ceremony concluded with a vibrant cultural programme presented by the cadets. Patriotic songs, group dances, and short theatrical performances captivated the audience and added a memorable touch to the occasion. The entire event reflected an atmosphere of enthusiasm, discipline, unity, and patriotism.
The camp also featured two grand Cultural Evenings, during which NCC Air Wing cadets, along with renowned folk artists and musical bands from Himachal Pradesh, enthralled the audience with their outstanding performances.
Wing Commander Kunal Sharma appreciated the dedicated efforts of the Associate NCC Officers, PI Staff, Civil Staff, Mess Staff, NIT Health Centre Team, Sports Department, Aero Modelling Team, Auditorium Staff, Motivational Speakers, and all other personnel whose wholehearted support ensured the grand success of Annual Training Camp (ATC-233).
On the occasion, an Investiture and Felicitation Ceremony was also organized to honour cadets who displayed exceptional performance, commitment, and excellence throughout the camp.
