The country would remain indebted to martyrs: Dhumal

The country would remain indebted to martyrs who had made supreme sacrifice for the security and sovereignty of the country and Kargil Vijay Divas celebrated to mark the sacrifice of martyrs of Kargil War. This was stated by Prem Kumar Dhumal former Chief Minister while addressing at Kargil Vijay Divas function organized at Tauni Devi near here. He said that he had seen the Kargil War very closely as he visited Kargil with then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
He said that the undeclared war had led to sacrifice of over 527 martyres and 52 of them were form Himachal Pradesh. He said that people of the country are sleeping peacefully in the country because soldiers of Indian Army are spending sleepless nights on the borders of the country. Earlier Dhumal paid tribute to the martyrs and honoured some ex-servicemen who had participated in Kargil war and 1971 war.
