Fatehpur, Arkiand Jubbal- Kotkhai and Mandi Parliament bye elections in Himachal Pradesh

The election commission of India had announced the Schedule for Bye-elections in Parliamentary/ Assembly Constituencies of various States including Himachal Pradesh today. Pertinently, the bye elections in four constituencies including three assembly and one parliament were due. This was after death of MLA’s from Arki (Virbhadra Singh), Jubal Kotkhai (Narender Bragta) and Fateh Pur (Sujan Singh Pathania) and Ram Swaroop Sharma member parliament from Mandi parliament constituency in the state.
The official release of the election commission read that the election Commission has reviewed the situations related to pandemic, flood, festivals, cold conditions in certain regions, feedback from concerned States/UT and taken into consideration all facts and circumstances and it has decided to hold bye-elections to fill vacancies. These included in three Parliamentary Constituencies of UT of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu, Madhya Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh and thirty vacancies in Assembly Constituencies of various States in the country,
In Himachal Pradesh vacant assembly constituencies were Fatehpur, Arkiand Jubbal- Kotkhai and Mandi Parliament
The nominations for the elections would start from October 01 while last date of Nominations is 0ctober 08. Scrutiny of Nominations would be done on October 11. Last date for withdrawal of candidatures is October 13. The polling for the election would be on October 30 and counting of votes on November 02.
