Covid pass is now necessary to enter Himachal, orders issued by the government

Shimla, August 19

The Himachal government has made Covid pass necessary for coming within the state. Now those coming from outside will have to register on the Covid e-registration software. Those returning from the state to the outlying states will be allowed to move within 72 hours. However, they will also be required to take a Covid e-pass for this. On this pass, during exit and entry, the border will be properly stamped and the time of movement will be marked on it.

The State Disaster Management has issued a notification regarding these new restrictions. All types of goods carrier vehicles have been exempted from the Covid registration process. Apart from this, those doing interstate movement on daily and on weekends have also been exempted from registration. In this, industry traders, suppliers, factory workers, projects, etc have also been kept out of the hassle of registration.

According to the notification, negative report of RT-PCR test will not be necessary for children below 18 years of age. Children below 18 years of age along with their parents and guardians can enter the state without RT-PCR test. However, Covid registration will also be mandatory for children.

It is noteworthy that in the cabinet meeting held last week, restrictions of Covid were imposed in view of the third wave. During that time strict conditions were laid for coming to the state. A 72- hour prior report of RT-PCR or a 24 hour prior report of antigen test was required for this. Apart from this, those who took both doses of corona vaccination were given the exemption of entry on the basis of its certificate. It was believed that the agencies posted on the border were facing problems in the investigation of all these certificates and negative reports.

Due to this, people coming from outside the state including Parwanoo, Mehatpur and Damtal were not being screened. Due to these problems, the state government has once again made the condition of Covid e-pass mandatory. The government has said in its orders that now no one will be allowed to enter without Covid e-pass.
