Hamirpur, July 25
Martyr Kamal Dev Vaidya sepoy of 15 Dogra regiment of Indian Army who died yesterday was cremated with army and state honour at his native village Ghumarwin in Bhoranj today. The body of the martyr arrived at the village today at 8:45 a.m. morning. Thousands of people thronged to the village to pay last tribute to the brave soldier.
A contingent of army was present to pay last tribute to the martyr on behalf of Indian Army.
Devashweta Banik deputy commissioner, Karthikeyan Gokulchandran Superintendent of police and Rakesh Sharma SDM Bhoranj also paid tribute to the martyr on behalf of state government. Kamlesh Kumari MLA Bhoranj was also present to pay tribute to the martyr.
Notably, Martyr Kamal Dev Vaidya was posted in Mankot sector of Punch district of Jammu and Kashmir region. He died after splinters of a mine blast hit him during an army operation near Line of Control on Saturday night. He was rushed to the nearest facility but could not survive.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur said that Martyr Kamal Dev had made supreme sacrifice for the country and would be remembered for ever for his gallantry service to the nation.
