Former Goa BJP leader Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekr took oath as the 28th Governor of Himachal Pradesh at the Raj Bhavan on Tuesday.
President Ram Nath Kovind had issued orders for the appointement of Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh on 6 July. Along with this, Bandaru Dattatreya, who was the Governor of state, has been appointed as the Governor of Haryana.

Arlekr has also been the Goa’s Minister of Forest and Environment and Panchayati Raj, apart from the speaker of the Goa Legislative Assembly.
After taking oath, the Governor said that the beauty of Himachal Pradesh, which competes with the state of Goa, full of natural beauty, is even more. He said that after coming here, he came to know that like Goa, the hospitality among the people of Himachal Pradesh is very high.
Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, members of cabinet were present during the oath-taking ceremony. Chief Secretary Anil Kumar Khachi conducted the program.
