Bilaspur, April 18
The team of sleuths of excise and taxation department recovered fine of Rs. 37.95 lac for violation of Goods and Service Tax at Ghumarwin in district Bilaspur yesterday. A team of excise and taxation department detained a truck bearing number UP53 ET 7152 carrying 390 gunny bags of Beedis of value Rs. 66,96,428.00. The team of excise department comprising members including Prem Singh kaith Assistant Commissioner, ID Gupta Assistant State Excise And Taxation Officer and Promila Sharma and Shubham Sharma ASETO both trainees stopped the truck carrying the stock of beedies and the truck driver failed to produce e-way bill of the stock. The driver of the truck produced a bill of Rs. 4,20 864 of the stock which actually found to be Rs. 66,96,428.
Manoj Dogra Deputy Commissioner State Excise and taxation at Bilaspur said that department had recovered fine of Rs.37.95 lac. He said that the stock was shipped from Jalpaigudi in West Bangal to Mandi in the state. Since the supplier of the stock was not registered in the state hence a temporary registration was done to recover the amount, he added.
