24 lakh MNREGA laborers of Himachal will get hike of Rs. five and Rs. six in per day wages from April 1.
The MGNREGA daily wage has been increased by five rupees to 203 in non-tribal areas of the state and six rupees to 254 rupees in tribal areas. The notification to increase the wages of MGNREGA workers has been published in the Central Government Gazette. At present, 24 lakh workers were registered in a total of 13 lakh job cards in the state. Of these, one million are active MNREGA workers. State Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Virendra Kanwar said that earlier, Rs. 198 were given to the MNREGA laborers in non-tribal areas in the state. He said that they would now get Rs. 203. He said that in the tribal areas of the state, Rs 248 a day were given to the MNREGA laborers and now Rs 254 will be given to the MGNREGA workers in these areas.
In total these workers would get additional Rs. 1. 30 lac, he added.
