COVID-19 toll surged to 12 in Himachal

The death toll due to COVID-19 had rose to 12 after a 52-year-old man from Kangra district died in the early hours of Friday in the state.

RD Dhiman ACS (Health) said that a resident of Amb village in Kangra’s Jwalamukhi surfing from comorbidities and covid-19 positive had died.

On Friday Himachal Pradesh recorded 120 fresh COVID-19 cases, including two more Army jawans in Kangra, bringing the state’s tally to 1,955. This was the highest single-day spike in COVID-19 cases.

Earlier on July 20, 110 cases and on July 23 total 109 cases were surfaced.

The man who died on Friday was also suffering from chronic liver disease said Kangra deputy commissioner.

The patient died in ambulance when he was being taken to the zonal hospital in Dharamshala from Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College (RPGMC) in Tanda, it was reported.

The patient was also treated at the Out-Patient Department of PGIMER in Chandigarh. He was admitted in Tanda medical college on July 23.
