Himachal soldier killed in Indo-China LAC dispute

Young Lad form village Kadohta in Hamirpur district sacrificed his life for the Nation at the age of 21

A 21-year-old soldier Ankush was martyred in the India-China at LAC dispute in Ladakh region yesterday from Hamirpur District in Himachal Pradesh. The people in the district were shocked to hear this news. Martyr Ankush Thakur had joined Punjab Regiment in 2018.  He was from village Kadohta in Bhoranj subdivision.

Ankush Thakur’s father and grandfather had also served in the Indian Army. Ankush joined his duty 10 months ago after completing his training at Indian Army training centre. The younger brother of the martyr is studying in class six.

As soon as the information about the martyrdom of 21 year-old jawan was given on phone by the army headquarters to the gram panchayat Kadohta, a wave of mourning ran out in Hamirpur district. Ward Panch Vinod Kumar of Gram Panchayat Kadhota said that he had received a call from Army Headquarters informing that Ankush Thakur, a soldier of Panchayat, was martyred during the India-China LAC clash.

Amit Kumar Sub Divisional Officer at Bhoranj said that the Ankush Thakur from village Karohta was martyred at Indo China border last night. He said that administration was in touch with army authorities for the movement of mortal remains of the martyr Ankush Thakur.
