Contraband (Heroin) recovered from a pickup van, Driver arrested

In a major drug haul Kullu police reportedly arrested a person with 42.05 kg Charas. The person was identified as Leeladhar from Rewalsar in district Mandi.
While briefing media Gaurav Singh Superintendent of Police Kullu said that during police patrolling near Fagu bridge in Banjar area head constable Jagdish arrested Leeladhar, resident of Riwalser , a driver of pick up van No. HP 41-0675 and recovered 42.05 Kg charas from him.
SP said that this was the biggest cache of charas seized during the last 17 years. The approximate value of seized contraband was roughly about 53 lakhs in national market and could be in crores in international market. He said that the case was registered under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) act in Banjar police station and further probe is going on.
It’s learnt that since June 2019 Kullu police has seized 218 kg charas and people associated with the illegal business of drugs are being arrested continuously.
