Pharma unit owner, family members test positive in H.P

Twenty four more persons tested positive for Covid in the state today as the total number of cases in the state rose to 445. Sirmaur district reported eight cases, Kangra six, and Hamirpur and Mandi one each, officials said. The district administration of Sirmaur has sealed Kala Amb-based pharma unit for violating orders after eight persons, including its owner, his wife and son, who reside in Panchkula, tested Covid positive on Tuesday. This is the highest single-day spike in the district.

Others found Covid positive included the company’s CEO, who resides in Yamunanagar, two employees, who come from Sadhora, and another from Naraingarh in Haryana. The authorities here have informed their counterparts in the neighbouring state.

The eighth person, who tested positive, was a youth belonging to Bag Pashog village in the Sarahan area of Sirmaur district. He also works in the said factory and was already at a medical facility after he had tested positive in Haryana on June 5. As he travelled back to the state after the test, Haryana officials informed HP and he was quarantined. He along with seven others was tested again yesterday and the report came today.
