Schools Opened in Wuhan, Closed in New Delhi

Senior school students in 121 institutions were back in classes  in Wuhan city of China today. More than 56500 students from 121 high and vocational schools returned to campus on May 06 in the Chinese city of Wuhan. Significantly, Wuhan was ground-zero of the global Covid-19 pandemic from where the coronavirus first emerged in December last year.

Wearing masks, students had their temperature checked before entering the campus of their respective school. All school campuses were sanitize several times before classes resumed.

“Wearing uniforms and masks, students at Hubei Wuchang Experimental High School had their temperatures taken and hands disinfected before entering their classrooms while maintaining a one-meter distance from their classmates,” the official news agency, Xinhua reported yesterday.

On the other hand, Delhi government Announced Summer Vacation In State Run Schools From May 11 To June 30 Amid Pandemic, while schools were still closed following corona virus pandemic.

The government has also clarified that students would not be called to schools for any vacation-related activity too. Significantly, teaching and learning activities in schools were suspended since March 23 in the national capital. The lockdown was further extended upto May 17.

A senior official of the Directorate of Education (DoE) said, “The summer vacations in government and government-aided schools shall be observed from May 11 to June 30.
