Two More Tested Corona Positive in Himachal Pradesh

A woman Working in Baddi also tested positive in PGI

With two more person tested positive for corona virus in the state the total number of covid-19 patients had surged to 42 in Himachal Pradesh today. It was reported that a person had arrived from Delhi at Joginder Nagar in Mandi district on April 29. He was reportedly sick and suffering from temperature. His samples were sent to Medical College Nerchowk yesterday and was tested positive today. While a woman working in Baddi in Solan district was tested positive at Chandigarh. She was referred to PGI after she complaint of serious stomach ailment on April 26. Though she was tested positive in Punjab yet her contacts in Baddi area were also under investigation. Which had posed threat of surfacing more cases.

Notably, Mandi district was in green zone until this case was not surfaced. After the detection of corona patient five districts of the state were in green zone including Bilaspur, Kullu, Shimla, Kinnor and Lahul & Spiti, while Chamba, Una, Hamirpur and Sirmour were in Orange Zone and Mandi and Solan were in Red Zone as per the guidelines of MHA.

Devender Sharma medical superintendent of the Medical College had verified the report. Jeevanand Chauhan CMO Mandi  said that the person was tested positive and health team was rushed to Joginder Nagar.

Rigved Thakur Deputy Commissioner said that a person from Joginder Nagar was tested positive for corona virus. He said that area in radius of three kilometer around the town was declared as containment zone and no movement from and to the containment would be allowed.

It was expected that the covid-19 patient would be shifted from the house to the medical college until he cures. Pertinently, all the primary and secondary contacts of the patient would be tested for corona virus to ensure the safety of the family and relatives.

On the other hand the woman who was working in Verdhman company was staying in labour hostel near the company. Dy. Supt. Of Police Ajay said that the woman was tested positive in Punjab. He said that all other occupants of the hostel quarantined and other contacts of the infected woman were investigated. The samples of doctors and paramedics who treated the woman at the CHC were also taken for testing, sources revealed.
