Una: In Himachal Pradesh, about 16 taxi drivers from Una district are setting a unique example in the fight against COVID 19. In order to deal COVID 19 pandemic effectively, these handful of people have dedicated themselves and their vehicles in public service through District administration. AIR correspondent reports, about 16 taxi drivers of the Pre-paid Taxi Union of Una city have come forward to deliver services in fight against COVID 19 pandemic in their own way. Ram Kumar Sharma of Basal village in Una district has a taxi attached to the Union. When he came to know that district administration has a shortage of vehicles to carry the stranded people and to deploy the corona front-line warriors, Ram Kumar and his colleagues met the Deputy Commissioner and the Superintendent of Police to offer taxi services. Although the district administration has assured to pay fuel charges to these taxi drivers, but they are determined to provide these services even if the administration does not compensate it. Besides this Ram Kumar Sharma also dropped positive COVID 19 patients to hospitals without any hesitation which is really noteworthy. In this time of crisis the Taxi drivers of Una district have shown their generosity by providing their vehicles selflessly to district administration which is undoubtedly the source of inspiration for others.
