Himachal got Green School Award, three Govt schools included

Shimla: Four schools in Himachal Pradesh have been awarded the Green School Award for making their campuses eco-friendly. Director General of the Center for Science and Environment, Sunita Narayan, who works in the field of environment, on Wednesday awarded 172 schools across the country the award in New Delhi. CSE presented these awards in different categories based on the eco-friendly system of schools. High School Dugha of Hamirpur was awarded in the category of Best Land Management. To make the school campus environmentally beautiful, the teachers along with children worked hard and planted 70 species of plants. The important thing is that the school management has also set up Eco Club, whose task is to keep the school campus green. Two schools in Solan district, Senior Secondary School Chail and Shivalak Valley School have also been awarded the Green School Award for notable work. He was ranked first in the category of Changemaker School. The children and teachers of these two schools did a great job in keeping the school premises beautiful and clean. Similarly, Senior Secondary School Kujji Himachal Pradesh was also awarded the Green School Award. The special thing is that the government school, Kujji District Sirmaur, applied for the award for the first time. The school was inspected by a team from Delhi for selection of the Green School Award. It has been said on behalf of CSE that 1704 schools in the country had applied for these awards. 172 schools were selected in these. These awards are given every year to keep in mind the measures taken in the environment as well as better utilization of natural resources.
