New Delhi : Narendra Modi, 68, was administered the oath of office and secrecy by President Ram Nath Kovind at a glittering ceremony at the forecourt of majestic Rashtrapati Bhavan.
After leading his party to victory in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Narendra Modi takes oath as the Prime Minister of the 17th Lok Sabha at 7.00 pm on Thursady at the Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi in the presence of 6,000 guests, including leaders of BIMSTEC countries, the Kyrgyz Republic and Mauritius. Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Congress president Rahul Gandhi present at the function.
Ahead of his swearing-in ceremony, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party President Amit Shah pay tribute at Sadaiv Atal Samadhi, the memorial of late Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee PM Modi also paid tribute at the National War Memorial in Delhi. Army Chief General Bipin Rawat, Navy Chief Admiral Sunil Lanba and Vice Chief of Air Force Air Marshal RKS Bhadauria were also present.
