Former Union Cabinet Minister and MP Anurag Singh Thakur on Sunday hailed the success of the BRICS Summit and praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, describing the summit as a significant demonstration of global unity and India’s growing diplomatic influence.
Anurag Thakur said Prime Minister Modi’s visionary leadership has repeatedly brought countries with diverse interests and perspectives together on a common platform for global progress. He said the participation of key world leaders, including UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the Saudi leadership, Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, reflected the growing global confidence in India’s balanced, progressive and inclusive diplomacy.
He described the New Delhi Declaration as an important roadmap towards a multipolar world, with a strong focus on reforming multilateral institutions, accelerating sustainable development and promoting broader economic integration. He said BRICS initiatives on cross-border digital payments, food security cooperation and coordinated climate action, advanced through India’s consensus-building efforts, would contribute to strengthening global financial and social resilience.
Anurag Thakur said the achievement was part of India’s steadily expanding diplomatic footprint. Referring to India’s historic G20 Presidency, the Global IndiaAI Summit and other major international conventions, he said Prime Minister Modi had repeatedly demonstrated the ability to transform complex geopolitical differences into opportunities for cooperation and collective solutions.
He said the successful summit had further strengthened India’s position not merely as a participant in global affairs, but as one of the key nations shaping the future course of international diplomacy and collective global growth.
