Heavy rain wreaks havoc in Himachal, landslides on Kalka-Shimla highway, four vehicles stuck between river in Hamirpur

Heavy rains continued in Himachal Pradesh amid Yellow alert, causing extensive damage at many places. In Sirmaur, half a dozen roads have been closed due to landslides. Traffic on Kalka-Shimla National Highway-5 has been affected due to stone falling from the mountain at many places. In Kinnaur district’s Nigulsaeri, the place where the mountain had fallen in the past, stones started falling again from Saturday morning. The district administration has banned the movement of vehicles on this route as a precautionary measure.

A tree has fallen on a bus in Kangra. The Meteorological Department has issues an alert of heavy rain in the plains and central mountainous parts of the state even today. Meanwhile, three tippers got caught in the strong current of water due to sudden increase in water level in Pung Khad Kasiri Mahadev.
