Himachal Pradesh Cabinet Meeting: College students promoted, salary of Asha workers increased

Under Graduate (UG) 1st and 2nd year colleges students have been promoted in Himachal Pradesh. The decision was taken in the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur on Wednesday. Earlier, Himachal Pradesh University had released the BA, BSc, B Com and Shastri 2nd Year exam schedule on July 5. These examinations of the second year of BA, BSc, B. Voc course were to be held from July 16 and till August 11. After the decision of the cabinet, these examinations will no longer be held.

Schools will not open for students in Himachal Pradesh yet. Colleges will be opened for admissions in the last week of July. Regular classes in colleges will start from August 16. In the cabinet meeting, it was decided that the question paper of class 3rd, 5th and 8th in government schools will be decided by the Board of School Education from 2021-22.

In the Cabinet meeting, it was decided to increase the number of people attending marriages and other functions. Now, 50 percent of the total capacity and a maximum of 200 people will be allowed to participate in indoor or closed spaces. Earlier this condition was of 150 people. Whereas 50 percent of the total capacity of the ground will be allowed in the programs to be held in open space. Right now the maximum limit was 250. In the meeting, it was decided to increase the additional salary being given to ASHA workers from Rs. 2000 to Rs. 2750 per month. This will benefit about 7964 ASHA workers of the state.
