Gudiya rape murder case convict gets life imprisonment

Shimla, June 18

The court has sentenced Anil alias Neelu a wood cutter (chirani) to life imprisonment in the famous Gudiya rape and murder case of Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh. On Friday, the hearing was held in the special court in the District and Sessions Court complex Chakkar. Taking the challan presented by the CBI as the basis, the court sentenced the convict Neelu to life imprisonment. He has been sentenced to life imprisonment (till for natural death) in rape case and life imprisonment and 10 thousand fine in murder case.

In this whole case, the convict was able to present only one witness to prove himself innocence. The special court has convicted Anil on April 28. Due to the restrictions of ‘corona curfew’ it was becoming difficult to bring the accused to the court. Earlier on Tuesday, the process of hearing on Neelu’s sentence was completed.

A student of Kotkhai went missing on July 4, 2017. On July 6, the victim’s body was found in the Tandi forest of Kotkhai. Investigation found that the girl was murdered after being raped.
