The heliport at Sanjauli near Shimla would be a new land mark on the map of Indian Civil Aviation. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur visited to review the construction heliport coming up at Sanjauli suburb of capital city yesterday.
He directed the authorities to ensure time bound completion of this heliport which would provided facility to tourists coming Shimla. He said that Rs. 14 crore heliport would facilitate the landing of helicopters at this heliport instead of Jubbarhatti airport under the Udan-II scheme. This heliport would have all modern facilities such as a VIP lounge and utility area, he added.
CM said that three more heliports would come up at Mandi, Rampur and Baddi. He said that such heliports would be constructed at all district headquarters.
The Chief Minister also visited the Bantony Castle and reviewed the restoration of the Castle being executed by spending an amount of Rs. 25.45 crore. He said that this ADB funded Project would have three Blocks A,B and C. He said that Block-A would have a Museum based on Himachali theme, Block-B would have a food court of Himachali cuisine and gallery of Himachali art and craft and Block-C would have common amenities and Open Air Theatre.
CM said that the light and sound show in the Castle would be an added attraction for the tourists and locals as well.
