10 Houses Gutted in Massive Fire in Himachal, One Woman Died

As many as ten housed were reportedly gutted in massive fire in Dugyani Village of Chirgaon area in Shimla district . An 80-year-old woman was reportedly died and about ten houses were reduced to ashes.

However, the flames of  fire were doused with the collective efforts of villagers, fire brigade and local police.

It was reported that the village had over 35 houses. The fire erupted from one house that engulfed four neighbouring houses initially and later spread to other six houses in close vicinity.

Deputy Superintendent of Police at Rohru said that a case had been registered and investigation to ascertain the loss and cause of fire was initiated.

BR Sharam SDM Rohru, who reached the site of incident, said that immediate relief was given to the affected families. He said that the loss to property would be assessed soon. It was apprehended that property over Rs. One Crore was gutted in the fire.
